Preliminary Task Research

This is the student magazine 'The National Student Magazine.' The part of the masthead 'The National Student' is written in blue capital letters in a sans serif font and the 'magazine' part is writen in lower case, sans serif, orange writing. At the bottom of the page is listed whats in magazine, this is written in orange sans serif text. The cover line is also written in the same colours used for all the text through out the magazine cover. The main sell denotes a picture of three men in a band called 'The Kooks.'

This is an image of a student magazine 'DIRECTION'. The masthead is in orange sans serif text style and postitioned at the top of the page and the last letter 'N' is the colour green. The use of these colours make the magazine bold and stand out against the main sell which denotes two male students sitting on the floor slouching against a wall, which connotes rebellion and masculinity. The cover lines use the same colours as the masthead which makes them clear and easy to understand.

This student magazine 'tell!' uses a screamer on the masthead, which is written in white serif text on a black speak bubble. The cover lines use the same style of font and colours. This makes the magazine look well presented. On the other hand the main sell of this magazine uses very bright colours and the picture its self is rather cluttered and there is alot going on so the use of the bold text makes it stand out against the main sell. The main image denotes a woman on a merry-go-round. This connotes friendliness and would attract a female audience. The pink cover lines are reversed out and to make the main selling point of the magazine stand out even more they have written individual words in yellow.
